The 3-Day Soup Cleanse: Eat As Much As You Want And Fight Inflammation, Belly Fat, And Disease

Warm and soothing comfort foods are good all year, not just in the winter. Why does comfort food make us feel so much better when we’re down? Research in Psychological Science shows that comfort food brings up associations of positive relationships and makes us feel less lonely.

Soup can also be a great ally in cleansing our system.

My personal favorite is the 3-day soup cleanse below because it’s packed with nutrients and doesn’t make my feel like I’m going hungry.

The key here is easy-to-digest, nutrient-rich foods. The soup and juice recipes are loaded with the nutrients and minerals you need for cell regeneration. You will eat the soup six times a day and drink the juice 3 times a day. Finally, drink the turmeric tea for breakfast each day.

Hydration is key, so be sure to drink at least a half-gallon of water per day.

Broccoli Detox Soup Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ cups organic broccoli florets
  • 3 organic celery stalks
  • 1 cup organic spinach
  • 1 organic onion
  • 2 cups organic vegetable broth (or bone broth)
  • ½ organic lemon, freshly squeezed
  • 2 tablespoons of collagen
  • 2 tablespoons organic coconut oil
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt

Also, I like to couple my soup cleanses with a green juice cleanse to ensure maximum nutrients.

Anti-Inflammatory Juice Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 green organic apples
  • 2 organic cucumbers
  • 4 stalks organic celery
  • 2 cups organic spinach
  • 1 organic lemon
  • 1 knob organic ginger

add fresh turmeric (and black pepper for absorption) to help alleviate muscle soreness

Drink this 3 times a day with the soup cleanse.

Turmeric Tea Recipe

During your soup detox, it’s advisable to drink this turmeric tea first thing each morning during your 3-day cleanse. It’s the perfect substitute your morning cup of joe. This tea is a powerful anti-inflammatory, boosts the immune system, and tunes up your entire digestive system.

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon organic ginger root (freshly grated or powder)
  • 1 teaspoon organic turmeric (freshly grated or powder)
  • 1 teaspoon organic Ceylon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (you need this to activate the turmeric)
  • 2 cups water
