Weight Loss

Eating One Serving of This Food a Day Could Help You Lose Weight

Beans, along with chickpeas and lentils are proving themselves to be magical fruit. This information was confirmed by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

Even without making any other changes like heavy workouts or calorie counting, just adding these products to your daily menu (a little more than usual ½ cup serving) can spark weight loss.

Now it’s proven that this combination slows digestion, delaying the onset of hunger so you stay full for longer. “These are unique in that they’re one of the only foods with protein, fiber, and complex carbs,” says Cynthia Sass, R.D. author of Slim Down Now: Shed Pounds and Inches with Pulses—The New Superfood.

HOW TO START USING THEM

This is the easiest way to start. Try to sub them for starch or meat, in burritos, burgers etc. Sass recommended adding the white beans to your everyday smoothies. I know it sounds gross but it makes this drink really creamy and thick. She also thinks that pastas and flours made from chickpeas or beans can be a good opinion, because they’re naturally gluten-free.

HEALTH BENEFITS:

Because the chickpeas, lentils and peas are rich in a whole spectrum of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals they have other health-boosting, disease-fighting properties as well. Research points out that the fiber in these products can actually prevent your body from absorbing calories from these foods, says Cynthia Sass.

Red beans rival berries in these free radical-slaying compounds.

But actually beans don’t have a good reputation because of the farts, but Sass think that the idea that eating them leads to bloating and gas is undeserved. In a matter of fact, the studies shows that beans cause far less digestive distress than people expect.
